I have a Sherline mill that I performed my own CNC conversion on. The Sherline system uses EMC as the control software, whereas I'm using Mach3. My drive is made by Xylotex, I don't recall who makes the drive for the Sherline machine. As for the mill itself, I've found it works extremely well. It's small, but is very high precision.
